What inspectors found

CQC: Requires improvement

Report published 14 January 2022 · Last inspected 24 November 2021

Inspectors found there were enough care staff to meet people's needs. People and their relatives described the team as kind and expressed confidence in how the managers lead the staff and run the home. Medicines were handled safely, and the home had ways to spot and report events that could put people at risk.

Strengths noted
  • Staffing levels were judged adequate for the care people needed.
  • Residents and their families praised the kindness of the team.
  • Changes to infection control, COVID-19 risk management and record keeping were recognised, and risk assessments and care plans were up to date.
  • Medicines management was judged safe, with systems for identifying and reporting risky events.
Areas to improve
  • Some staff files did not hold all the required information before staff began work.
  • Vacancies in domestic staff meant deep cleaning was not always possible. The provider is recruiting and has moved some cleaning to night shifts.
  • Improvements to oversight and governance of the service need further development and need to become routine in daily practice. Inspectors made a recommendation on this.
