What inspectors found
CQC: GoodReport published 31 October 2023 · Last inspected 27 September 2023
Inspectors found that people received everyday care in a clean home, where staff were trained, staffing levels were kept up, and people had meal choices and support with their health. People and their relatives gave positive feedback about the service. Inspectors also found that some written records needed improvement.
- Medicines were stored safely and given by staff who had been trained and assessed as competent.
- Rotas showed that staffing levels were consistently maintained, so people had enough support when they needed it.
- Infection prevention and control was effective, the home was clean, and people were able to personalise their rooms.
- People's dietary needs were assessed and met, and they had a choice of meals. Referrals to other professionals were made when needed.
- Records did not always show that actions had been taken to reduce identified risks, and some care plans needed more detail.
- Medicines records needed clearer guidance on when to give 'as required' and covert medicines.
- Some staff files lacked a previous employer's reference and had gaps in employment history, although the registered manager took action.
