How AskBart works — and how we're funded
We think you should know exactly how a service like ours makes money. So here it is, in plain English — no small print.
What AskBart is
AskBart is a free, independent directory of UK care homes and retirement-living properties. We bring together official CQC ratings, inspection reports, fees, photos and detailed information on more than 1,500 homes, so families can compare them in one place — and we back it up with clear, jargon-free advice guides.
It's free for families — always
You never pay to use AskBart, and you never have to. Searching homes, reading our guides and getting in touch with a home through us are all completely free.
How we make money
AskBart is funded by care providers and partners — for example, care groups that choose to promote their homes with us, and referral arrangements when a family decides to enquire. That's how we keep the service free for the people who need it.
Crucially, this never changes the advice you get or the order homes appear in. We don't sell top rankings, we don't hide homes that don't pay us, and the CQC ratings we show are the official, independent ones — not ours. Where a link may earn us a commission, we say so in our affiliate disclosure.
Independent by design
- Official ratings. We display CQC's own inspection ratings, unaltered.
- No pay-for-placement. A home can't buy a better rating or a higher position.
- Impartial advice. Our guides are written to help you decide, not to sell.
- Transparent. We tell you when we might earn from a link or referral.
