About

Close House Nursing and Residential Care Home was founded in 1962 by John and Margaret Robson and is still run by the Robson family. Set in countryside about three miles south of Hexham, it began as a single farmhouse and now has 23 registered beds. It cares for men and women over 65 with nursing, residential or dementia needs, and offers respite care when beds are free. Single rooms across two floors, with lift access, mostly overlook the Hexhamshire countryside. Home-cooked meals can be eaten in the dining room or in residents' own rooms.

Activities are run daily by staff, and a Church of England minister holds a regular service that residents may attend. The Care Quality Commission rated the home Good overall in its 2019 report, with Good ratings across all five key questions.
