What inspectors found

CQC: Requires improvement

Report published 28 June 2022 · Last inspected 17 May 2022

Inspectors found that the home was clean and well maintained, and that people felt safe there, with staff trained to spot and prevent abuse. Staffing levels were judged sufficient, and people were supported to make their own choices, with least restrictive practice in place. Residents' meetings gave people a voice about their care, and actions were taken on what they raised.

Strengths noted
  • The home was clean and well maintained, and people said their rooms were tidied with consideration for their rest
  • People felt safe, and staff were trained to recognise and respond to possible abuse
  • Enough trained staff were in place, and new staff were recruited safely
  • Residents' meetings let people comment on their care, and actions were taken where needed
Areas to improve
  • Some medicines had not been disposed of correctly, and some labels had been removed, so people were at risk of receiving medicines not prescribed for them
  • Some medicines had been taken out of their packaging so it was unclear who they were for
  • Systems for monitoring the quality of the service had not identified the medicines issues found at this inspection
