What inspectors found
CQC: GoodReport published 23 July 2019 · Last inspected 25 June 2019
Inspectors found that staff knew the people in their care well, understood their needs and responded to them in a friendly, sensitive way. Staff were trained and supported, and people and their families were involved in decisions and care reviews. The home was home to 37 people at the time of the visit, and the provider had planned to close part of the building for refurbishment, limiting occupancy to 42 during that period.
- Staff were trained and confident to spot and report possible harm, and they assessed and reduced risks to people.
- Care plans were detailed and gave staff clear guidance, and people's needs were kept under review so their care could change when required.
- Staff were respectful, supported people to stay independent and gave people choice and control over their lives, including their end-of-life wishes.
- Systems were in place for managing medicines, preventing infection, recruiting suitable staff, checking staffing levels and monitoring the quality of the service.
