What inspectors found

CQC: Good

Report published 19 February 2020 · Last inspected 27 January 2020

Inspectors describe Livability Treetops as a large, single-level home offering nursing and personal care for up to 21 adults with physical disabilities, often alongside learning disabilities or acquired brain injuries. Feedback from people and relatives was very positive, and the report says support is planned around each person, with staff who are motivated, well trained and clear about their roles. Medicines management and oversight, which were problems at the previous inspection, had improved by this visit.

Strengths noted
  • Staff were described as motivated and supported, with a strong person-centred culture and clear responsibilities
  • Care plans were detailed, kept up to date and supported effective handover of information between staff
  • Mealtimes were sociable, and people were supported to follow their interests and take part in activities both inside the home and in the community
  • Environment was described as accessible, clean and comfortable, with systems in place to reduce infection risk
Areas to improve
  • Some staffing vacancies were noted, although interim arrangements were in place to cover them
  • The home is larger than current best practice guidance recommends, though inspectors said the building design fits well into the residential area
