What inspectors found
CQC: GoodReport published 30 August 2022 · Last inspected 5 July 2022
Inspectors found that people, some of whom live with dementia, felt safe and spoke warmly of the staff who support them. The home had a calm, relaxed atmosphere, and staff were trained, supervised and attentive to people's eating, drinking and health needs. The service kept its overall good rating.
- People said staff looked after them well and knew what they needed.
- Staff were suitably trained and received regular supervision, and people were supported with nutrition and access to health professionals.
- Infection control practices were embedded in the service and followed current guidance, including for COVID-19.
- Management audits and regular feedback from people and relatives through surveys, meetings and reviews were used to monitor and improve quality.
- Medicines were not always managed safely. The provider had made some improvements, but inspectors said further development was needed and made a recommendation.
- Leadership was in transition at the time of inspection. A newly recruited manager was still working notice in another role, and an interim manager was in post.
