What inspectors found

CQC: Requires improvement

Report published 30 May 2023 · Last inspected 12 April 2023

Inspectors found that people and their relatives generally felt safe and were confident that concerns would be acted on, and that staff understood their roles and felt supported by managers. Care plans and risk assessments were reviewed regularly, and staffing levels were judged appropriate for the people living there. Medicines handling and some risk management needed improvement, and the report found that people's control over their daily lives and the use of least restrictive practice were not well supported by the service's policies and systems.

Strengths noted
  • Care plans and risk assessments were reviewed regularly
  • Staff were recruited safely and staffing levels met people's needs
  • People and relatives were involved in developing care plans where appropriate
  • The provider gathered feedback, responded to it, and acted quickly on concerns raised during the inspection
Areas to improve
  • Some risks were not always managed to keep people safe
  • Medicines were not always given as prescribed and at the right times, and audits had missed these problems
  • People were not fully supported to make choices and keep control over their lives, and policies did not support least restrictive practice
