What inspectors found

CQC: Requires improvement

Report published 15 October 2021 · Last inspected 14 July 2021

Inspectors carried out a focused inspection of this residential and nursing home for 37 older people, looking at safe and well-led. The report found that the provider's auditing and governance were not always effective, and that medicine errors and incomplete care plans and risk assessments had not been fully addressed. Staff were described as kind, compassionate and safely recruited, and people's personal choices and living spaces were respected.

Strengths noted
  • Infection prevention and control was well managed, with guidance followed, including during the pandemic.
  • Staff were recruited safely and there were enough of them to meet people's needs.
  • Staff worked well with health and social care professionals to meet people's ongoing health needs.
  • Surveys of people's views showed positive outcomes, and concerns raised were investigated with lessons learnt.
Areas to improve
  • Governance and auditing systems were not always effective, and overarching oversight was not in place to coordinate and maintain improvements.
  • Medicine errors had not been consistently identified or addressed.
  • Care plans and risk assessments did not always include all required information for people's long-term conditions.
