Hawthorn Court is a residential care home with 24 registered beds, set in a residential area some distance from central Swansea. It provides personal care and accommodation for older people, including those living with dementia, and supports both local-authority-funded and privately funded residents.
Residents can spend time in a sunny conservatory or one of two communal lounges, where they can relax and socialise. The outdoor area has raised beds, so residents who wish to can take part in gardening while enjoying time outside. The home is led by a manager who has moved up through care roles since starting as a carer and has completed further training, including a university-level course in care practice. Its deputy manager also began working in care at 18 and has progressed from carer to senior carer.
