About
Eildon House is a dementia care home in the north of Edinburgh, with 24 registered beds. It occupies a traditional stone terrace that overlooks private playing fields. The first-floor lounge has views towards the city skyline and the castle. The home has no garden of its own, but the Royal Botanic Garden lies at the end of the street, and a south-facing patio gives residents a sunny spot for tea in summer.
Activities are planned around residents' own interests, and outings are chosen from their wishlists. Past trips have included the Royal Yacht Britannia and Edinburgh Zoo. The home has links with a local nursery, and residents take part in the Dean Life Club for singing and games. The Care Inspectorate, which regulates the home in Scotland, graded wellbeing support and leadership Very good, and care planning, setting and the staff team Good.
