About
Carmichael House is a care home in Dundee that provides care for people living with dementia. It occupies a substantial Grade B listed Victorian villa with Dudhope Park in view, and it has an outlook over the city, the River Tay and Fife beyond. Many original features of the building have been kept while the interior has been modernised. The home has 17 registered beds, mainly in single en suite rooms.
Communal areas give residents space to socialise and to spend time with visiting family and friends. Staff are said to focus on each resident's routines and preferences, and residents are encouraged to keep up the activities they enjoy. The Care Inspectorate has graded the home Good for how well people's wellbeing is supported, how well care and support is planned, its setting, its staff team and its leadership.
