What inspectors found
CQC: GoodReport published 17 August 2023 · Last inspected 9 June 2023
Inspectors visited Bungay House, a residential care home for up to 20 people living with a mental health condition, and found that earlier shortfalls around Mental Capacity Act practice had been addressed. The report describes person-centred care from caring staff, people being involved in planning their care and taking part in activities of their choosing, and staff supporting choice in the least restrictive way. Medicines handling, staffing levels, safe recruitment, and infection control were also found to be in order.
- Staff were described as passionate and caring, delivering person-centred support
- People were encouraged to take part in planning their care and to make their own decisions as far as they were able
- The service was well led, with a quality assurance system that identified areas for improvement and acted on them
- Medicines were stored safely and given in line with prescribers' instructions, and staffing levels met people's needs in a timely way
