Birdston is a 60-bed care home in Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire, about a 15-minute journey from Glasgow City Centre. It has been established for more than 20 years and offers residential, nursing, dementia and respite care for older people. The home is purpose-built on one level, with en-suite bedrooms, several lounges, a reminiscence room, dining areas and enclosed gardens that overlook the Campsie Fells. Activities are assessed for each resident and include both one-to-one and group sessions.
The Care Inspectorate, which regulates the home in Scotland, graded its support for residents' wellbeing, its care planning, its setting and its staff team as Very good, and its leadership as Good.
