What inspectors found

CQC: Requires improvement

Report published 20 February 2024 · Last inspected 10 January 2024

Inspectors found that staff were kind, respectful and attentive, knew the people they supported well, and helped them keep choice and control over their lives. People, relatives and staff felt listened to, and complaints were investigated and answered. The report also noted that the provider had made enough improvement to move out of the inadequate rating and Special Measures from the previous inspection.

Strengths noted
  • Staff were described as caring and considerate, treating people with respect and protecting their dignity.
  • Recruitment, staffing levels and staff training were judged sufficient to meet people's needs.
  • People were protected from harm and their medicines were managed safely.
  • Decisions were made in line with people's best interests and the least restrictive approach, and people were involved in decisions about their care.
Areas to improve
  • Measures to reduce identified risks were not always applied consistently, and changes in people's health were not always easy to recognise. A handover document for nursing staff was still being developed.
  • Care plans were described as basic, and activities were not always tailored enough to people as individuals.
  • Systems for monitoring the quality and safety of the service need to be improved, embedded and sustained over time.
