Locharwoods of Birkdale is a 19-bed care home in a quiet residential area of Southport, Merseyside, run by Valmar Care. It is one of two Locharwoods care homes, the other in Formby. The homes are owned by Charlie and Stuart Pearson, and day-to-day management is led by Natalie Arrowsmith and Heather Weekes. The home does not have a lake or woodland, but it has well-kept gardens and comfortable communal surroundings. Staff are available around the clock, and the home aims to help residents live with dignity and take part in as full and active a life as they choose. Prospective residents can join the home for lunch and spend time there before deciding, and the managers are available to discuss any concerns.
