What inspectors found
CQC: GoodReport published 2 September 2021 · Last inspected 17 August 2021
Inspectors found that people felt safe and well looked after in a relaxed, friendly home, where staff were seen to be warm, respectful and discreet in protecting people's dignity and independence. Risks were assessed, the environment was kept safe, and people were supported to make their own decisions where possible. The home's rating improved from requires improvement to good, and the provider was no longer in breach of regulations.
- Staff were described as warm, respectful and knowledgeable, and were seen to support people in a way that protected their privacy and independence.
- Risks to people were assessed and guidance was in place for staff, and accidents and incidents were reported with actions taken to reduce their recurrence.
- Staff were trained in safeguarding, knew how to raise concerns, and had been recruited safely. Nursing staff could also train in areas of interest.
- People were helped to stay in touch with family, including through video calls during the pandemic, and had a range of activities to join.
- The system for monitoring the repositioning of people at risk of pressure ulcers was not robust. Inspectors raised this during the inspection, and staff took immediate action.
