About

The White House is a step-down residential home in Ipswich, Suffolk, for adults continuing their recovery from eating disorders after leaving Limerick House. It has six registered beds, provides nursing care and supports younger adults, older people and people with eating disorders. Each resident has an individual care plan and is encouraged to take more responsibility for daily routines, building independence ahead of life in the community.

Support includes weekly one-to-one psychotherapy, monthly group dietetic sessions and group occupational therapy. Every resident has a bedroom of their own, with en-suite facilities in most rooms and two rooms sharing a bathroom between residents of the same sex. Meals are cooked from scratch, with menus developed alongside residents and a specialist eating disorder dietitian. A park beside the property is used for walks, and smoking and vaping are not permitted on site.
