About

The Raikes Residential Home in Bradford, West Yorkshire, has 31 registered beds and sits in semi-rural surroundings about 10 minutes from Ilkley and Keighley. Residents have their own rooms and can use the garden, watch television, or chat with other residents, relatives and friends. Local choirs and musical groups are encouraged to visit, local clergy hold communion and prayer, and a hairdresser and chiropodist attend regularly, with chiropody paid for individually. There is no fixed time to rise or retire, and visitors are welcome at any reasonable hour, though they are asked to avoid mealtimes.

The home is not a nursing home. Staff are on duty overnight, and medical cover comes from local GPs, district nurses and a community psychiatric team, with hospital admission the usual course in cases of serious illness.
