What inspectors found
CQC: GoodReport published 18 December 2020 · Last inspected 26 November 2020
Inspectors found The Hollies to be a relaxed, sociable home where people appeared content and had warm relationships with staff, and relatives spoke positively about the care and the management. Staff were described as well trained and supported, there were enough of them on duty, and people were helped to eat, drink and make choices in ways that suited them. The report recognised improvements since the last inspection, though some risk assessments were not always fully documented.
- Warm, friendly relationships between people and staff, with a lively and sociable atmosphere
- Medicines were managed safely and given as prescribed
- The home was clean and fresh-smelling, with stronger infection control measures in place
- Staff received induction, training and support, and relatives reported regular updates and positive views of management
- Risks linked to some people's health and care needs were not always assessed and recorded, although the registered manager addressed gaps promptly
- Minor issues with how identified risks were assessed were found during the visit and were resolved afterwards
- The report recommends that the provider keep accurate, complete and up-to-date records of care and risk management
