What inspectors found

CQC: Requires improvement

Report published 28 June 2021 · Last inspected 28 May 2021

Inspectors found that The Grange Nursing & Residential Home, which had 40 people living there at the time, provides personal and nursing care for people with dementia, physical disability or sensory impairment. Staff were described as having the right mix of skills and enough numbers to meet people's needs, and the culture was described as person-centred, with managers listening to feedback. People were said to feel safe and confident raising any concerns.

Strengths noted
  • Risks to people were assessed and reduced, for example with pressure-relieving equipment and movement sensors for people at risk of falls.
  • Accidents and incidents were recorded and investigated.
  • Medicines were managed safely, and the home was clean with infection prevention and COVID-19 guidance followed.
  • Feedback from people, staff and relatives was sought and used to make changes, and the provider had improved since the last inspection so that it was no longer in breach of regulations.
