About
The Cedars is a care home in the village of Landford, about ten miles from Salisbury and on the edge of the New Forest National Park. Registered for 62 beds, it provides residential, nursing, dementia and respite care, with staff on hand around the clock. Residents can choose between rooms in the traditional part of the building and rooms in a newer wing, and the grounds include woodland, decorative gardens and raised beds.
Dementia care is provided in a dedicated community called Memory Lane, with a focus on independence, dignity and choice. Activities include outings such as picnics in the New Forest, pub lunches, dancing and live entertainment, and residents help decide on the programme each month. The Care Quality Commission rated the home Good overall in its 2021 report, and Good for each of its five key questions.
