The Brooklands Residential Home is a 24-bed care home in a quiet residential area of Preston, Lancashire. It provides residential and dementia care and supports people with physical disabilities. Rooms are single occupancy, each with an en-suite toilet and washing facilities and an emergency nurse call system. Many also have wet rooms, fridges and tea and coffee making facilities, and some have larger layouts for wheelchair users.
Before admission, the Home Manager assesses each resident's needs, and a care plan is drawn up with the resident, their relatives and health professionals. Each resident has a named key worker, and staff are on hand day and night. Residents can spend time in an enclosed garden and are supported to keep local links, such as religious activities or day centre attendance. The Care Quality Commission rated the home Good overall in its 2019 report, with Good ratings across all five key questions.
