About

Riverside Meadow is a care home in Netherfields, a suburb of Middlesbrough, providing residential, respite and dementia care for up to 45 residents. Care is offered across long-term, short-term and respite stays in one specially adapted building on two floors. The home is situated in the heart of the community, close to local shops, with a bus stop outside. The Care Quality Commission rated Riverside Meadow Good overall, with Good grades for safety, effectiveness, caring, responsiveness and well-led.

The home has recently opened a men's community, where residents can share interests such as dominoes, sport and conversation, while keeping their own private space. Residents can draw on in-house occupational therapy, psychology, positive behaviour support, physiotherapy and speech and language therapy. For people living with dementia, the Familiar Spaces Project can recreate elements of a resident's previous bedroom, including a view from an earlier window. Weekly activities range from reading the newspaper and walks in the grounds to arts and crafts, exercise classes and bingo.
