Rathgar Care Home is a 23-bed home in Northampton that provides respite care. A team of 22 staff works there, including a registered manager, deputy manager, senior and care staff, an activities co-ordinator, cooks, domestic staff and volunteers. The registered manager keeps up with current research to inform the care residents receive. The home has been owned since May 2017 by Hamendra, known as Mendi, who previously worked in manufacturing and whose first care home this is. Several staff have been there for many years: one senior carer for more than 20 years, and the activities co-ordinator for 30 years.
The Care Quality Commission rated Rathgar Requires Improvement overall in its report published in 2026. Its key questions were rated Good for effective, caring and responsive care, and Requires Improvement for safe care and for well-led care.
