Queens House is a dementia care home in Kelso, in the Scottish Borders, with 32 registered beds. It was founded in 1954 as a single residential care home, and a new building replaced the original in 2001. The buildings were designed and decorated with reference to established good-practice guidance on accommodation, with the aim of supporting residents' wellbeing. The home is run by a not-for-profit charity, and since June 2021 the organisation has traded as QME Care. It plans to share its specialist dementia experience with the wider community.
The Care Inspectorate graded the home Good for how well people's wellbeing is supported, how well care and support is planned, and leadership. It graded the setting and the staff team Very good.
