What inspectors found

CQC: Good

Report published 25 October 2019 · Last inspected 29 August 2019

Inspectors found that infection control was in place and that staff understood how to prevent infection and how to recognise and report abuse. Risks were recorded, recruitment was robust, and medicines were managed safely. Staff were described as experienced, and people were supported with choice, healthcare, food and drink, and privacy, with the registered manager and management team viewed positively.

Strengths noted
  • Staff were described as experienced and trained, with supervision in place
  • People were supported to make choices and keep control in their lives, in the least restrictive way possible
  • Management and the registered manager were praised for responsiveness and a drive to improve the service
  • People enjoyed their food and were supported to eat and drink healthily
Areas to improve
  • Some equipment was worn and needed replacing; the service has since renewed some of it
  • Some windows needed repair, and the provider had plans to replace them
  • Training records were not always accurate at the time of inspection because of technical problems
