What inspectors found

CQC: Good

Report published 4 January 2024 · Last inspected 14 November 2023

Inspectors found that Park View, which provides accommodation with personal care for up to 64 people and had 57 residents including some living with dementia, gives everyday care that people, relatives and staff described positively. The registered manager was seen as visible, supportive and clear about expectations, and the home was rated good overall. This focused inspection looked at safety, effectiveness and leadership, and found no evidence that people were at risk from the safeguarding and capacity concerns that prompted it.

Strengths noted
  • Enough suitable staff were on duty and had been recruited safely
  • Staff were trained in safeguarding and knew how to raise concerns
  • Medicines were given as prescribed and infection control practice was good
  • Staff used training well to support people who become distressed or anxious, and people were supported to make their own choices
Areas to improve
  • Some improvements were needed to make the home's culture consistently open, and some staff felt less confident about how concerns were handled because of problems with following policies and with confidentiality
  • The provider acknowledged these issues and planned to reassure staff that they were being listened to and that action would be taken
