What inspectors found
CQC: GoodReport published 8 September 2022 · Last inspected 12 July 2022
Inspectors found that people and their relatives spoke positively about staff, and they saw warm, supportive interactions between staff and the people living at the home. Medicines management, infection prevention, staffing levels, training and the visibility of managers were all judged to be working well. The report also identified gaps in care planning and some dissatisfaction with activities.
- People and relatives described staff as kind and caring, and inspectors observed positive interactions throughout the visit.
- Care plans and risk assessments gave staff clear guidance on managing known risks to people's safety.
- Medicines were managed and administered safely, and staff had completed medicines training.
- Infection prevention and control, safe visiting arrangements and the cleanliness of the building were found to be in good order.
- Some people with long-controlled conditions had no indicators in place to show early signs of relapse.
- Care plans did not say how often people with pressure ulcers needed turning, and turning charts were not consistently completed.
- Some people said they did not enjoy the activities on offer, although the provider was trying to offer activities people would like.
