What inspectors found
CQC: GoodReport published 15 September 2020 · Last inspected 14 August 2020
Inspectors found that people received person-centred care and, where possible, were supported to take part in leisure and education activities in the community. Medicines were managed safely, staff had the skills and knowledge they needed, and people said they were happy with the support they received. Staffing levels were judged safe overall, but they were lower in the evenings and at weekends, which reduced staff flexibility.
- Medicines were given safely, and care plans contained appropriate guidance for staff.
- Recruitment processes were found to help ensure only suitable staff were employed.
- People were offered a healthy diet with alternatives that met their dietary needs, and were supported to make choices and stay in control of their lives.
- Staff knew what to do in a fire and what support each person needed, and systems were in place to protect people from abuse.
- Some shortfalls in records and risk monitoring continued since the last inspection, and hot water temperatures were found to be too high.
- Staffing was lower in the evenings and at weekends, which gave staff less flexibility to support people, and the report recommends a review of staffing.
