About

Lorimer House is a nursing home in Juniper Green, to the south of Edinburgh, registered to provide nursing and dementia care for 37 residents. The home occupies a red-tiled house built in 1905 by the Scottish architect Sir Robert Lorimer. It stands in 2 acres of gardens and mature woodland, with views towards the Pentland Hills. Many original features of the listed building have been kept, and a 2009 extension adds modern facilities. Residents have single rooms with en-suite wet rooms, and some larger rooms suit couples or close friends who prefer to share. Communal space includes several lounges, a library, and a ground-floor quiet lounge that opens onto a sun patio and the gardens.

The Care Inspectorate graded Lorimer House Very good for how well people's wellbeing is supported, how care and support is planned, the setting, the staff team and leadership.
