What inspectors found
CQC: GoodReport published 26 July 2023 · Last inspected 21 June 2023
Inspectors found that the home, which had 39 people living in it at the time of the visit, provided everyday care in a way that generally kept people safe and supported their choices, including with meals and daily routines. Staff received training, supervision and opportunities to attend team meetings, and people were mostly positive about the service, though inspectors noted some concerns about how staff spoke to people.
- Staff had training on protecting adults at risk and access to the provider's written procedures.
- Risks to individuals and to the environment were assessed and managed, and infection control measures were in place.
- Medicines were handled safely, and people's needs were assessed before they moved in.
- Care records are kept electronically and updated regularly, and audits check the quality of care and the accuracy of records.
- Recruitment records for two staff had shortfalls, which the nominated individual addressed after the inspection.
- Some people said they had little to do, and an activities coordinator was due to start work at the home.
- Inspectors observed staff comments that compromised people's dignity, and the management team agreed to look into this and remind staff about respectful interactions.
