What inspectors found

CQC: Good

Report published 6 June 2022 · Last inspected 29 April 2022

Inspectors found that this home for older people, some of whom have dementia, had enough staff and experienced, skilled staff who knew residents well. Residents were treated with kindness and respect, offered varied food and drink, supported with their health needs, and encouraged to take part in activities that reduced isolation. Decisions were made in residents' best interests and with as few restrictions as possible.

Strengths noted
  • Staffing levels were sufficient to meet residents' needs, and incidents and accidents were handled in ways that reduced the chance of them happening again.
  • Staff had the experience and competence to meet residents' needs, and residents had access to a range of meals, snacks and drinks.
  • Residents were treated with dignity and respect, and care was tailored to the individual, with staff knowing people well.
  • Leaders were visible and accessible, and quality monitoring systems were in place that led to improvements in care.
Areas to improve
  • Medicines management needed to be made safer, and inspectors noted that managers took action on this after the inspection.
  • Some residents' care plans did not reflect their current needs, information and choices, and managers took steps to update them.
