About

Goldielea Care Home provides care for people living with dementia on the outskirts of Dumfries, in Dumfries and Galloway. The home occupies a Grade 2 listed building once frequented by the poet Robert Burns, set within around 10 acres of parkland. Staff are on duty around the clock, and each resident has a personal care plan, a named carer and, where needed, a qualified nurse.

The home has 47 ensuite bedrooms, all with countryside views, and residents are encouraged to furnish them with their own belongings. Shared spaces include several lounges, a quiet sun lounge and a library that the local library refreshes regularly. Meals are cooked on site three times a day and follow vegetarian and vegan nutrition guidance for older people. Activities include pamper afternoons and Fun Fridays, as well as outings to nearby Kippford and Rockcliffe. The Care Inspectorate graded the home's care planning and staff team as Good, and its wellbeing support, setting and leadership as Adequate.
