What inspectors found
CQC: GoodReport published 23 June 2023 · Last inspected 9 May 2023
Eldon House is a residential home for up to 34 people, mainly older people, some of whom live with dementia, and 31 people were living there at the time of the inspection. Inspectors found that people were supported safely, with staff trained to spot abuse, risks assessed and managed, and medicines handled correctly. Staff were supported and worked as a team, and people were helped to keep as much choice and control over their lives as possible.
- Medicines were managed safely, and people received the help they needed to take them as prescribed.
- There were enough safely recruited staff, and incidents were reviewed so that lessons were learned.
- People's dietary needs were met, and they had a choice of food and drink.
- Care plans reflected people's individual needs and interests, and people had been asked about their wishes for end-of-life care.
