What inspectors found

CQC: Good

Report published 10 October 2022 · Last inspected 9 August 2022

Inspectors rated this residential and nursing care home for up to 28 people, many living with dementia, as good at its inspection in August 2022. Feedback from people, relatives and outside professionals praised staff kindness and a person-centred approach, though many staff were newly recruited and still completing induction and training. Activities, communication support and partnership working with external professionals were all noted positively.

Strengths noted
  • People said they felt safe, and safe recruitment and safeguarding processes were in place
  • Medicines were managed safely and in the way prescribed
  • Staff were described as competent and skilled, meeting people's health and nutritional needs
  • A busy activities programme was in place and was having a positive effect on physical and mental health
Areas to improve
  • Staff did not always treat people with consistent dignity and respect at mealtimes and during personal care, which the provider addressed during the inspection with further training planned
  • Care plans did not always reflect people's current risks and needs, as staff floor work was delayed by staffing difficulties
  • Some improvements to infection prevention were needed, which were made before the inspection ended
