About
Deerlands is a residential care home in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, with 40 registered beds in a smaller building. It sits in an established community near local shops and a working men's club, and many of its staff walk to work. Bedrooms can be personalised, and there are three lounges and a secure garden.
Two activity coordinators run one-to-one sessions in residents' rooms, arts and crafts and chair exercises, while pony and dog therapy, visiting small animals, singers, entertainers and magicians add variety. Residents go on regular outings, such as shopping trips and visits to The Deep. Meals are home-cooked, with menus shaped by residents' preferences, and include traditional English dishes alongside curries.
The Care Quality Commission rated Deerlands Good overall in its 2018 report, with Good ratings for all five key questions.
