About

Charterhouse Care Home sits within The Chocolate Quarter, a retirement village in Keynsham, a short distance from Bristol and Bath. The site occupies the former Fry's chocolate factory, and its refurbished buildings house a range of facilities shared by care home residents and those in independent living apartments. The home provides nursing and dementia care for up to 93 registered beds. Its rooms are private suites with full-height windows, motion-sensor lighting in the en-suite bathrooms and furnishings that residents can adapt to their own taste.

Residents can take part in gardening, outings, painting, pottery and other daily activities, and can join events across the wider Chocolate Quarter community. On-site physiotherapy and occupational therapy are provided free to care home residents. The Care Quality Commission rated the home Outstanding following an unannounced inspection in April 2026, with Caring and Well-led graded Outstanding and Safe, Effective and Responsive graded Good.
