About

Castlehill Specialist Care Centre in Walsall, West Midlands, provides dementia, nursing and residential care in a home with 84 registered beds. Inside, there are three cinema rooms, several activity rooms, and residents' kitchens and laundry rooms, where people can join in everyday tasks and regular activities much as they would at home. The home can also be arranged into small household units, each with its own living and activity space.

Each floor has level access to large gardens with seating and planting areas. The home is building a petting zoo in these grounds, and its first animals have already hatched. Residents will help decide which animals join them, and alpacas, a favourite choice, are expected soon. The Care Quality Commission rated the home Good overall in its 2024 report, and Good across all five key questions: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
