About
Burrell Mead is a retirement home in West Wickham, a short distance from the boundary between Bromley and Croydon. It is registered for 22 beds and offers long-term residential care, dementia care and short-term respite stays. Residents are supported with personal care, accommodation and meals, and the home is also set up for older people aged 65 and over. Many people first come for respite and then choose to stay on permanently.
The home was started in the 1960s by West Croydon Baptist Church and continues to reflect a Christian ethos, with residents able to take part in that fellowship. Meals are cooked fresh on site, and the facilities include a dining room, a bright lounge and conservatory, a garden, private rooms and a programme of activities. The Care Quality Commission rated the home Good overall, with Good ratings across the Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led questions.
