What inspectors found

CQC: Good

Report published 2 May 2023 · Last inspected 4 April 2023

Inspectors found that care was delivered in a clean, well-run home with good communication between staff and families. Visitors were welcome at all hours, activities were available to join, and staff were described as approachable and visible. Some records and behaviour guidance gaps were found and acted on during the visit.

Strengths noted
  • The home was clean throughout, with cleaning schedules covering all areas and clear PPE areas.
  • Staff were trained, recruited safely, and understood how to safeguard people and report concerns.
  • Personalised care plans were regularly reviewed and recorded people's life history and preferences.
  • Medicines were managed safely and staff competence was regularly checked.
Areas to improve
  • At times there were not enough staff to respond to people in a timely way, particularly at weekends, with call bells and the front door taking longer to answer.
  • Behaviour support guidance was missing for two people and one person's records were inconsistent; the registered manager addressed these during the inspection.
  • Problems obtaining medicines stock from the pharmacy were being reviewed by the registered manager.
