What inspectors found

CQC: Good

Report published 13 December 2022 · Last inspected 2 November 2022

Inspectors found that people, who are mainly older and some of whom live with dementia, feel safe and are cared for by staff who know them well and treat them kindly. Staff are trained and supported by management, and interactions observed were positive, with people's choices respected. Care plans were informative but sometimes lacked personal details, and some care tasks were not consistently recorded.

Strengths noted
  • Medicines are given as prescribed by staff trained to administer them
  • Staff know how to safeguard people from abuse and what to do if concerns arise
  • People receive enough food and drink to support a healthy diet
  • The building and equipment are maintained and serviced in a timely way
Areas to improve
  • Monitoring systems did not identify problems with infection control, inconsistent care plan records, menu choices or support for dementia care
  • Care plans sometimes lacked person-centred information, such as people's likes and dislikes
  • Some care tasks were not recorded, so records did not always reflect the care provided
