Bluebirds Neurological Care Centre is a bungalow in the residential Shenley Lodge area of Milton Keynes. It has 25 registered beds and provides nursing care and support for dementia. Opened in 2001 as the first care centre run by PJ Care, it supports adults with degenerative neurological conditions at all stages. Early-onset conditions affecting people in their thirties to fifties are a particular focus, and support continues through to later-onset conditions and end-of-life care.
Every bedroom has an en-suite toilet and hand basin. The home also has two shower rooms, a bathroom with a sensory bath, two communal lounges, and a dining area that opens onto the garden. Parking is available, and a visitors' pod provides a private space for visits and meetings. Some staff have worked at the home for 10 to 20 years. The Care Quality Commission rated the home Good overall in its 2018 report, and Good across all five key questions.
