About
Bethany House is a purpose-built residential care home with 26 registered beds, set just outside Preston in Lancashire. It provides residential and respite care for older people, and it can also support people at the end of life. All bedrooms are on the ground floor, and 13 of them are en-suite. Each room has a single bed, an easy chair, a wardrobe and a lockable drawer, and residents can bring in their own furniture and belongings to personalise the space.
The home runs a monthly programme of in-house and external activities, planned with residents and volunteers. These include singing, games, gardening, baking and craft, and activities can be taken to residents' rooms when needed. Regular Bible study, morning devotions and Sunday services are offered, and trips and visits from local schools and groups help keep residents connected to the community. The Care Quality Commission rates Bethany House Good overall, with Good ratings across all five key questions: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
