Belong at Home DCA in Crewe provides personal care to people in their own homes, including people living in on-site apartments and people in the local community. Inspectors found that staff were kind, attentive and respectful of people's dignity, and that on-site fitness facilities and activity support helped people improve their health, independence and social lives. At the time of the visit the service had no registered manager, and an area manager was covering the role while recruitment took place.
- Innovative technology in the on-site gym helped people improve their health and wellbeing, and some people regained mobility and independence, lost weight, or needed fewer medicines or aids.
- An experience coordinator helped people re-engage with their interests, supported some to run their own groups and activities, and helped people move into or out of services gradually.
- Staff were described as kind and caring, made people feel valued and respected, and had training in equality and diversity; some people were supported to attend a pride event.
- End of life care was delivered by trained staff, who worked with community health services and other teams within the organisation to help people remain at home if they wished.
- There was no registered manager in post at the time of the inspection; an area manager had been covering the role, and a manager has since been appointed and has applied to register.
