Unlike care homes, retirement living developments in England are not regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The Associated Retirement Community Operators (ARCO) is the main trade body representing the sector, and many communities in Hassocks are ARCO members. Where on-site personal care is offered, those care services are separately CQC-registered.
