What inspectors found
CQC: GoodReport published 13 May 2022 · Last inspected 12 April 2022
Inspectors visited Florence House in April 2022, a 36-place care home over two floors that supports some people living with dementia, sensory impairment or mental ill health. They found staff were clear about their roles, felt valued by management, and that the service had enough staff, with recruitment ongoing. Medicines, infection control and risk management were judged to be in place, and people were supported with choice, healthcare, diet and dignity.
- Risk assessments are now in place for people, which the report says is an improvement since the last inspection
- Medicines are managed safely and infection prevention and control measures are effective
- Activities are tailored to people's preferences, and people and relatives know how to make a complaint
- The management team has improved systems and learns from things that go wrong
- Some care records needed reviewing to make sure they were up to date and reflected people's assessed needs
- Care plan audits needed to be carried out more often
