What inspectors found

CQC: Good

Report published 18 April 2023 · Last inspected 21 March 2023

Inspectors found that people receiving personal care at home were treated with dignity and their individuality was respected. People and their relatives spoke warmly of the agency, describing staff as courteous and caring and the registered manager as pleasant, helpful and well organised. Staff had the training and support they needed, and people said they felt safe.

Strengths noted
  • People said they felt safe, and safeguarding systems were in place with staff who knew the steps to take to protect people.
  • Pre-employment checks were completed before staff started work, and staff went through a thorough induction programme.
  • Care records were detailed and guided staff, and people's needs were assessed before they started using the service.
  • Medicines were well managed, risks to people were identified, and infection risks, including COVID-19, were managed.
Areas to improve
  • Individual risk assessments for some specific health conditions were not always in place, so staff may not have had guidance if a person's condition worsened. Inspectors recommended that the provider complete them.
  • Accidents and incidents were not always recorded, and one incident that should have been reported was overlooked. The provider addressed both during the inspection.
